Course Modules


MODULE 1: Introduction to Microsoft Azure 

In this module, students will learn the basics of cloud computing terminology and where Microsoft Azure fits in. Introductory concepts such as infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS), hybrid cloud and hybrid identity are discussed.

MODULE 2:  Introduction to Azure Infrastructure as a Service
In this module, students are introduced to virtual machines and virtual networks in Microsoft Azure. Topics such as instance sizes, storage, virtual machine networking, and hybrid connectivity will be discussed. The module also provides a brief introduction to automated deployment and configuration management. Pricing and licensing for Azure Infrastructure as a Service is also covered.

MODULE 3: Hybrid Cloud Fundamentals
In this module, students will learn about the key offerings Microsoft Azure provides for deploying a hybrid cloud. You will learn the basics of hybrid identity with Azure Active Directory, as well as hybrid management services such Operations Management Suite including monitoring services like Log Analytics and disaster recovery using Site Recovery and Backup.

MODULE 4: Modern Cloud Apps 

In this module, students are introduced to using Azure to build and design modern cloud applications using platform as a service (PaaS) building blocks such as Azure App Service, Storage, SQL, DocumentDB, and Service Fabric.

MODULE 5: Big Data and Analytics 

In this module, students are introduced to the capabilities of big data and analytics solutions in Azure. Topics will include using services such as HD Insight and the Cortana Intelligence suite to create business focused and data driven solutions.
